China has developed the world’s first crewless drone ship, which navigates the open ocean independently using artificial intelligence. Although Beijing has officially designated it as a marine research vessel, several analysts believe it might also be employed as a military warship.
The ai-based ship, the Zhu Hai Yun (seen above), is 290 feet long, 45 feet wide, and 20 feet deep, and it can launch dozens of air, sea, and underwater drones with various observation gear.
China’s military might utilize the drone mothership to gather information in the disputed South China Sea, which numerous nations claim. In past years, China has become more forceful in its claims to maritime sovereignty and has increased its naval deployment.
